Nav Singh Memorial Fund

This page has been started as a memorial in tribute of Navpreet Singh, daughter, sister, aunt, wife to DJ, mother of Jaskaran & Arshveer, friend to many, and sister in Christ.

Early on Sunday morning, 2/19/17 at the age of 34, after a 4 year battle with cancer, Nav had the privilege of entering into eternity and meeting her Savior, Jesus, face to face.

Beginning in March of 2013, Nav and her family have put up a valient fight against cancer, as not only she, but her son have had cancer. That March Nav was diagnosed with stage 4 Inflamatory Breast Cancer. She underwent Chemo, radiation, double mastectomy,
more radiation... remission  came in 10/2014.
In August 2014 while Nav was still in treatment, her son Arsh was diagnosed with Cancer aslo- Rhabdomyosarcoma. He had Chemo & Radiation until
3/2015 when he went into remission also. Three short months later, 6/2015 Arsh's Cancer returned & he immediately started treatment.  Only 2 months later it was discovered that Nav's Cancer returned & had spread into her spine, ribs, & organs. In August 2015 Nav started her fight against cancer again. Even with her own daily battle with pain and fatigue she made her children the top priority, homeschooling Jas & Arsh and seeing Arsh through his treatments, surgeries, long hospital stays, sleepless nights of illness.... to mention just a few. His journey had been long, but last month, January 2017, his scans came back clear!!!!!! Arsh has been healed. At that time Nav began her aggressive Chemo and plans for the recent surgery.

There are hardly words for what those of us near to Nav, Arsh, and the family saw & heard from them about how the battle goes; but one thing that can be said is that they never, SHE never, lost faith in God's goodness or gave up the fight against cancer. DJ has been at home as the care-giver to his wife and his son for years. He shows such courage, such tenderness, and boldness to face this new dawn without his beloved. DJ and Nav celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary on friday, 2/17/17 which was the day Nav went into surgery to remove her ovaries. They were standing at our door on their way to the hospital for the surgery that morning when I mentioned their anniversary. They clanced at each other with youthful smiles, true love. Nav shared with me the day before of her greatest concern... not herself, but her kids. Are they learning well enough, is she doing the best for them? As I affirmed that only a great mom cares so much, her tears rolled down and she cracked that beautiful smile. Friday morning on the phone she told me of her reflections about life and motherhood and how much she loved to live for her children, how thankful she was to God for her life, and how blessed she was to have "so much love, so much love". Saturday afternoon at the hospital she sat with family and friends being her silly and joyful self, enjoying each other. When she settled back down to sleep early Sunday morning, God chose to take her home. She lived long enough to see her son through cancer and see him healed. Although our earthly pain is not over, for we will all miss our Nav, we can take comfort knowing she is no longer in pain, no longer suffering, and is cancer free.

Nav was a firecracker who touched and changed every life she encountered. She shared the love of Christ with anyone and everyone, even if they didn't want to listen. She was generous, thoughtful and selfless. Her faith was strong and steady. Heaven has gained a treasure.
If Nav would have her way right now, she would tell you to know Christ. Only He can make your life worth living. Only He can give you peace. And only He can truly bring life.

The gofundme is set up to benefit DJ, Jas, & Arsh exclusively. Funds will be used by them towards medical bills that have accrued, and to help DJ get through the coming months as he finds a new normal for his sons and is able to begin working again. As you might be able to imagine, with DJ having been the caregiver and unable to keep at a steady job for income during those years, and with the cost of treatment through cancer and the many expenses that come up, they could use our help lightening the financial burden.

Let's come together this way. Nav has touched so many lives in so many ways, and was so giving to others even in her own times of need. I know Nav would like to see her family secure, with no expenses lingering for them, and for DJ to have no worries over finances while he sees their sons through these first months mourning her. Every little bit that you can donate is a blessing to them in this devastating time in their lives.
