Nathan Lobb's Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
Background:

Nathan Lobb (age 61) has been the pastor of a small church for over 30 years.  Nathan and Donna have been married for 38 years and have five children and 14 grandchildren.  This past May, after several months of not feeling well and a misdiagnosis of pneumonia, Nathan was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer. As a non-smoker this was completely unexpected and not something the doctors even looked for.  Conventional chemotherapy, radiation and surgery were not options, as they had proven ineffective in the treatment of this type and stage of cancer.  After treating himself naturally for about three months the tumor in his lung had grown.  Nathan has now been accepted as a patient at the EuroMed Foundation in Phoenix, AZ, a facility that “safely and effectively treats cancer while supporting the immune system.”  Using a fraction of the toxic drugs used in conventional chemotherapy, they specifically target the cancer cells.  This type of chemotherapy is highly effective at beating the cancer with almost no side effects. When previously given almost no hope for recovery, this treatment option sounds incredible!

Why We're on GoFundMe:

We learned on Monday (8/13/2018) that Nathan (Dad) has been accepted into an alternative treatment program in Phoenix, Arizona.  Dad will begin treatment the week of 8/27/2018.

The treatment is a targeted chemotherapy customized specifically to Dad’s condition.  With this treatment over 95% of the chemo medication goes directly into the cancer cell, which means that side effects are minimal.  The treatment has a very high success rate – particularly in individuals who have not yet done other treatments – and is the only treatment found to date which offers Dad a cure of the cancer rather than just slowing its progression.

Now comes the next leap of faith.  This treatment is not covered by insurance and must be paid for by the family.  The cost of treatment is $5,500 per week; or $55,000 of total cost for the 10-week cycle. Dad is moving forward with this not knowing exactly where the money will come from; but knowing God can provide for this as well.

We ask all of you first and foremost to continue praying for Dad and Mom.  We believe that prayer and patience have led him to this course of treatment; and now we pray earnestly for its success.  We also ask you to pray that God will supply the needed funding so this will not be a financial burden.

We are excited to see the work of The Great Physician in the coming weeks; and will keep you posted as to Dad’s progress.
