Lets Help Nate Beat Cancer!!

On September 25, 2015 Nate Adams (Jackie Hunn Adams husband) found a tumor and was diagnosed with cancer. Nate was diagnosed with stage three Sinonasal Sarcoma. The tumor was the size of a tennis ball and was wrapped around his optic nerve and pressing against his brain. Not only was this type of cancer very rare but it was even more rare to have it in his head.
As an infant Nate had bilateral Retinoblastoma which is cancer in the eyes. Doctors at the time had to remove his right eye but were able to save his left after extensive radiation treatments, which the doctors believe may have caused this recurrence. Because of the rare nature of his cancer Nate has to recieve treatments in Chicago where the doctors are more familiar with his situation and how to treat him.
After undergoing one round of intense 3-day Chemotherapy to try and shrink the tumor, Nate’s blood counts dropped and he had to be readmitted to the hospital for an additional 6 days. At that time another MRI was completed and it showed that the tumor had grown. After much consideration, they decided to proceed with emergency surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible without having to take the vision in his left eye. After 10 hours and the help of a very skilled Neurosurgeon, they were able to not only save his vision in his left eye but were able to remove all visible signs of the tumor.
Even though he was very blessed to have a successful surgery and recovery, to prevent tumors from returning Nate is now having to undergo special radiation and chemotherapy treatments. The couple will be in the hospital 3 days every month and will have to stay nearby afterward in case of any complications. Because they have to be in the hospital so much and because the treatments are so debilitating for Nate, Jackie will need to care for him and they won’t be able to work as they travel back and forth to Chicago from Cincinnati where they will be staying with family. We are asking for donations to help this young couple with the mounting medical bills and the cost of staying in Chicago for treatments for the next few months. Nate and Jackie have exhausted their savings and are running out of resources. They have already been through so much and we are reaching out for help to lighten this burden. We are praying every day that these treatments are successful and Nate makes a full recovery. Thank you for your prayers and support.
