On Thursday May 24th a storm rolled through Minneapolis/St. Paul that caused a huge power surge in Natalie's home. Anything that was plugged in at the time of the super surge got electrocuted 2X. Unfortunately the surge also fried:
the furnace (completely dead and needs to be replaced)
Window AC units (They have been without AC since the 24th! - There have been many brutal days and with kids, and pups that's insane) and now we're rapidly approaching winter and they are without heat!
Garage door opener - finetio, donezo - no longer works
Several normal household items: light bulbs, clocks, lamps, power strips, and a brand new Nest thermostat
While Natalie and her hubby have insurance they found out due to the depreciation of their home and their appliances the insurance claim and cash to repair the items (after their deductible) would only be $200! Most of us who own homes know that $200 won't cover half of the items that were ruined. Through all of this Natalie has been the rock of her family working crazy hours as a nurse (and giving all of herself to those in need), an on-call 24 hours a day rockstar mom, an incredible wife , and a pup-momma who treats her pooches better than most people treat their own family. She's done all this without loosing her light, her sanity, and her patience. She's shed tears, screamed in frustration and battled the insurance company to get the claim adjusted all while wearing a smile for those around her. She's kicking ass while all of this is kicking her down. Please consider helping this wonderful woman and her family out by donating money or items listed above to help replace the barrage of broken things.
