We are Napa’s only non-profit school of classical ballet and are very much dependent on community support to sustain our programs which provide professional level dance training and produce exceptional performances.
Napa Valley Ballet’s foremost focus is promoting the health and wellness of kids, most especially that of our community’s girls. Through the high standards of technical ballet training, beginning at an early age, we strive to promote healthy body image, self-esteem, confidence, and determination thereby creating whole, well-rounded young women. In addition, our programs foster an appreciation of dance as an art form, individual growth, respect, self-discipline, and the joy of working hard at what you love.
Napa Valley Ballet currently serves over 200 students in a variety of dance disciplines, with a core foundation in ballet.
As we move into a much larger facility, we have much work to do to create three studios that meet the requirements for professional dance instruction. Volunteers, comprised of a network of hands-on parents and family members, are doing all of the work on their own time.
Your financial support will assist us:
In funding facility upgrades to our new studios, such as new sound equipment, HVAC, floors, barres, wall reconfiguration, storage, and additional bathrooms.
By enabling children interested in dance access to instruction, costumes, ballet shoes, and more, as well as funding scholarships for unprivileged young dancers.
In presenting performances with open auditions. This will provide performing opportunities to include not only Napa Valley Ballet students, but also interested dancers of all ages from the entire community.
Our Vision for the Future – In the coming years Napa Valley Ballet aspires to create the region’s first professional ballet company working in partnership with the students and the Pre-Professional division of NVB, keeping in mind the three big "Es". Dance and theater are required to Entertain, Educate, and Enlighten. The Napa Valley is ready for such a cultural and artistic entity.
Our Mission Statement - Napa Valley Ballet is dedicated to enriching the youth of our community by providing a safe harbor and a structured environment all within a high quality classical ballet academy. We are committed to maintaining high standards of technical training, fostering the love for ballet as an art form, and promoting individual growth, respect, and personal discipline. The quality of our program is designed for both the serious student seeking a career in dance as well as for the student who wants the benefits of ballet training that will last a lifetime. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Our Points of Distinction - Napa Valley Ballet is the only non-profit ballet school in the Napa Valley. We are committed to offering students in the North Bay region a high quality, nurturing and disciplined, classical ballet education that fosters the love of dance. Our strength is in our Artistic staff. Our primary instructors are current or former dance professionals. We attract teaching talent from all across the Bay Area, including San Francisco, Marin, and Oakland. Many of our students apply and attend summer intensives, including San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and Joffrey Ballet School.
