Nancy Marion Leukemia Treatment pt2

This fundraiser is for Nancy Marion, who is undergoing treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukemia, for the second time in as many years, after a bone marrow transplant failed to rid her body of caner. For the past severeal years she has been valiantly battling this affliction. During this time she has been unable to work. Imagine yourself being so ill you are simply unable to earn any money to offset the immense expense that comes with having your life upended by an unforseen medical condition and the ongoing treatment that comes with it. This has gone on for years now. She continues to fight.
Nancy is an intelligent, kind, caring a very funny woman. I am her friend. I'm setting up this fundraiser to help her cope with this ordeal. I've already asked many people to donate via previous fundrasiers, but I am asking again because I believe it is up to us to help her. The american social safety net is a farce and a disgrace to humanity itself. Everyone is well aware of the fiscal cruelty that is America's health insurance industry.
Imagine yourself or a loved one having to deal with all of this in addition to the pain the illness itself brings. I don't know how Nancy does it, but she does. As does her mother Cheri.
This isn't someone asking for money to make a music video, or purchase studio time to record an album, or fund a vanity project masquearding as a cause. This is my friend's LIFE.
Donations will be used to help offset the unavoidable and immense cost of her prolonged treatment. There's hundreds of items insurance will not cover and even with insurance everyone knows additional bills from the medical complex will find their to Nancy and Cheri, increasing the strain and pressure. Forcing their attention away from treatment and recovery. Her illness has put a great financial strain on her family as well. Her mother Cheri has been by her side this entire time. You think you are a good mom? Perhaps you are. Cheri is redefining what it means to be a GREAT mother. She has left her home and life behind to care for Nancy.
In my imagination, I wish a person or persons with exhorbitant wealth would just appear and cut Nancy a giant check to put her and Cheri's mind at ease for the duration of her treatment and recovery, but I know this is unlikely to happen. We cannot wait for such a miarcle.
It's up to us to raise these funds.
Her friends. Our friends. The friends of our friends. Perhaps even strangers who don't even know Nancy and Cheri but are simply moved by their situation to create a kindness in a world that, these days, seems more unkind than ever.
Please help us raise this money for these two amazing human beings. Spread the word. Cajole your friends, colleagues, teammates, enemies, neighbors, family members etc. If it is one I've learned from doing the previous fundraiser for Nancy, it takes more than simply posting this to your Facebook page.
