Christina's Fund

Many of you were familiar with Christina's situation.  It was nine long years ago when she found a lump on her leg and wasn't sure if there was anything to be concerned about.  After visiting the doctor, the news was not good. Christina was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer, called Ewings Sarcoma. This disease effects only 3 in 1,000,000 young adults. After trying to wrap her brain around the news, she dove right into aggressive chemo therapy, fought a year long battle, and came out the victor! Christina was cancer free for three years; however, the fight began again with the return of the cancer. What kept her fighting all these years is her three young children. Karter is 16, Abigale is 12, and Riley is 11. She was determined to be here for them. When I think of the many people with whom I have crossed paths with, Christina is one that has showed so much courage. She has shown everyone strength, patience, perseverance, a little craziness at times (who doesn't) and a great sense of humor throughout these trying times. Her laughter is contagious and so are the silly antidotes she comes up with. Christina is an Overcomer and will always be remembered!
