Hello, this is Danielle, Davey Oil's partner. I am writing on behalf of G &O Family Cyclery. In the couple years that the shop has been open, G & O has grown to love Greenwood and this amazing community and they have brought so much to the neighborhood and all the biking peeps. They love their jobs and what they do. They are committed lovers of you, bikes and Greenwood.
The explosion that took place on Wednesday morning was devastating in so many ways. So much work, time and money went into making that space beautiful. It is so sad to see it gone! Most importantly, we are so grateful that no one was hurt (it is a miracle). But now in the aftermath, we need to pick up the pieces and move on. G & O needs your support right now.
The G & O team (Davey, Tyler, Donald, Karl and Forrest) were in the process of expanding. They had rented and were about to open a service area on the 85th street side of the building. They were poised and ready to move into the next stage of business when this setback occured.
They need to move to a temporary space (possibly permanent and hopefully still in Greenwood) and they need help to get through these tough times. They don't want to lay anyone off and they need to rebuild. If we all pull together, G & O will be better than ever.
We are part of such a rich, vibrant, amazing community. All of the offers of support and encouragement so far have been overwhelming and heart-warming. Many people have been asking how they can help, right now donating to this rebuilding fund is the best way. Please help with whatever you can and we will see you in the new space soon!
