Open Hands Medicine

Hi, I'm, Daniel Altschuler, an ancient Chinese Medicine pratictioner and professor at SIOM and Bastyr. Over the past 16 years we've held 6 missions in Nepal, and Bhutan to provide free medical treatment to patients without access or the means to pay for medical treatment. We've been able to treat over 120 patients a day in previous missions.

We've just launched Open Hands Medicine, a 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on expanding on that work. We intend to increase the number of missions to 2-3/year and broaden our reach by training more practitioners on field work best practices, establishing regional bases, and educating the general public about ancient Chinese Medicine.

We have a mission to Nepal planned for the end of December 2015 and we're raising $10,000 to pay for the costs of that trip. We get cheap airfare, stay for free with our monastic hosts, and we're volunteering our time so we're able to provide medical care at a cost of about $10 per patient. Funds raised will be used for travel expenses for this trip and any additional funds raised will go to grow our non-profit.

Please give generously to provide direct support to the people of Nepal and other developing countries. At an average cost of $10 per patient, a $100 donation could touch the lives of 10 people who may otherwise would go untreated.
