Mr. Harry's road to recovery
Our little fella, our puss puss, was brutally kicked last Friday evening (July 14th) while neither of us were around. We have a 10 year old Norwegian longhair cat we call Mr. Harry, who we love dearly. But not only do we love him, so do our neighbours, and many, many passers by. He is an outdoor guy who loves and trusts humans and is always up for a scratch behind his ears while he lays in his spot on a warm, sunny day. When my friend came home Friday evening and Harry failed to come greet him, he became concerned. He searched Saturday morning and found him in some tall grass near the house, so weak and dehydrated he could not even vocalise. He was rushed to the western college of veterinary medicine where we were told his injuries were caused by blunt force trauma, consistent with a kick to his belly. On Wednesday, Mr Harry had surgery at the college to repair his herniated belly that was the result of this suspected kick. Neither I, nor my friend can afford the (over) $8000 to cover these vet costs, and would greatly appreciate any help in covering our little lion's vet bills. He's worth it.
