My name is Jeremy McLaughlin.
After spending 16 years in law enforcement, I finally decided to go into counseling. When I was working on my bachelors degree, I started to see the effects of trauma and how it played a pivotal role in one's emotional and mental health.
Being a dog trainer and competitor, I have also seen the positive changes that therapy dogs can bring to the sick or those suffering from mental or emotional problems.
My goal is to design a program that gives dogs and people a second chance. What do I mean by this?
The confidence a mother or child will gain not only by gaining a loyal k9 friend but receiving free training classes so they are able to handle and care for their furry family member.
My ultimate goal is to work with rescues. I would love to give working dogs a second chance in life. I want to achieve this by getting them introduced to their new forever homes while giving everyone a new lease on life.
Emotional support dogs do require a letter from a doctor or mental health professional recommending that you have an emotional support dog for your condition. However, we see a lot more people taking advantage of this. It is my goal to be able to set up a kennel and provide these dogs to those in need free of charge. These dogs can help with a variety of conditions such as :
Anxiety
Depression
Bipolar disorder
Mood disorder
Panic attacks
Fear/phobias
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Suicidal Thoughts/Tendencies
Currently I am only able to help one or two Veteran's a year but with your help could expand to assist many more in returning to a happy and healthy life. So lets help give not only people a chance of living again but help provide such loving animals a second chance at life as little as $5 can help make a difference in someone's life.
