Jersey's Heart Procedure


Hi! My name is Jersey. I am a sweet and sassy purebred golden retriever. I love playing with my big doggy sister, Julia. I am a cuddly little girl and I love to eat. I was born on October 27, 2018. My mom and dad brought me home on February 1, 2019.

Shortly after they brought me home they realized something just wasn’t right. I wasn’t growing like I was supposed to and I had a distended abdomen.

After many trips to the vet and lots of tests, no one could figure out what was wrong with me. My mom and dad did every test they were told to do to help me and they decided to take me on my first road trip. We went to St. Paul to see a Board Certified Cardiologist at the University of Minnesota. I was a brave girl and I got lots of treats!

I have been diagnosed with Cor Triatriatum Dexter with severe hepatic distension and mild tricuspid valve dysplasia which basically means by heart doesn’t pump blood like it’s supposed to.

The veterinarians at the University of Minnesota recommend a corrective procedure to fix my Cor Triatriatum Dexter. Without the procedure, I won’t be able to keep playing with Julia, go for bike rides, go swimming at the lake this summer, or celebrate my first birthday.

Right now, I get tired easily and my big tummy makes me uncomfortable.

I am a happy little girl with the will to fight. My family is not willing to give up on me and needs your help. The procedure to correct my Cor Triatriatum Dexter will cost anywhere from $4,132.00 (low end) to $4,765 (high end) plus cost of travel and accommodations in St. Paul, MN.

We have scheduled the procedure for May 16th at the University of Minnesota. Any money raised will be put towards the cost of the procedure.
