Hi, my name is Sarah Fournier and i'm looking for help jumpstarting my Etsy business and lifestyle blog.
I'm 29 years old (soon to be 30 in a month!) and aspiring to generate a livable income through self-employment. I have always had entrepreneurial ideas and the curiosity to learn and develop these skills.
In 2017 I opened a shop on Etsy (Sarah'ndipity Studio Co.) to sell acrylic paintings and in February 2018 I created a lifestyle blog ( www.sarahfournier.blogspot.com ) to help generate more income through affiliates and hopefully direct more traffic to my Etsy shop. My goal as an influencer is to write about current trends in lifestyle, beauty, food and books.
During this startup phase I am generating very little income as I work to increase traffic to both sites. In addition, I am not currently employed due to recent setbacks in my life. In November 2017, I had a laparotomy due to a very large benign ovarian tumour in my abdomen, and I have been struggling with depression and anxiety, making employment very difficult (my experience is in food services - very stressful!). While self-employment is very hard to generate a living income off of, I have had the time during this period to thoroughly research and begin to put into practice how to successfully monetize my ideas. Therefore I am looking to the Gofundme community to help me continue down this path as I am confident that it is the path I should be on right now and the experience and development will be very valuable to my future as a creative.
I would like to raise at least $1,000 for the purchase of a Nikon DSLR camera ($800) (I currently use my cellphone for photographs), purchase Photoshop Elements ($100), allow me to purchase a domain name for my blog (+/- $17/year), photographing equipment (tripod, light diffuser and reflector), and some financial support during this startup phase.
I am grateful of any support I receive that will benefit my employment aspirations during this time in my life.
