Myanmar Bible School Fund

Hi Family and Friends,

      As many of you already know, I had the unique opportunity to go on a 3 month mission's trip to Myanmar from March to June. With the help of your support, I had the opportunity to build relationships with a lot of the Christian community with the Lisu people group living in and around Lashio, Burma. Most importantly, I had the privilege of teaching and getting to know 4 disciples from Pastor Robert's ministry who I worked with last year and got reconnected with this year on my 3 month trip. The disciple's names are Nehemiah, Anna, Suwe, and Naomi, and it has been the ultimate blessing to have been able to teach and work with these 4 individuals more closely during my time in Lashio.  To give you some background information, Pastor Robert has trained these disciples as well as many other leaders within the Lisu Church Council for frontier missions to remote Lisu villages in the hill country. A huge part of their ministry is also through their orphanage which takes care of 35+ kids. More specifically Pastor Robert has prepared the disciples for rural ministry as part of the curriculum for the Institute of Missions and Church Planting (IMCP) in Yangon, Burma in which they have begun their studies there as of early June.

The primary purpose of this gofundme is to help raise money for the disciples during their 2 year stint in Institute of Missions and Church Planting (IMCP) where they will study the Bible and become experts missions and church planting. This will help prepare the disciples with their vision of planting churches for unreached Lisu people groups in nearby mountains and hill country. God has definitely paved the way in allowing them to attend as their tuition and housing are covered, however these 4 student will have absolutely no money while living in the big city. This means they have little to no help should they need to buy daily necessities or require money for emergencies.  Furthermore, the disciples living conditions at IMCP are not conducive for the students ability to study well during Bible school.. Just some examples, they have no A/C in humid, 100 degree heat and have no real protection against mosquitoes which can spread deadly diseases. They do not have any money to purchase fans, and they have very little access to medical supplies should they get sick. They will not be able to partake in any luxuries that we take for granted such as eating at a restaurant or buying foods they enjoy at the markets.

THEREFORE, my goal for this Gofundme is to raise enough money to provide each disciple with 50 dollars a month each for their whole 2 year stay at IMCP In Yangon, Burma (total of 4800). This will help cover basic needs, school supplies, and maybe even allow them to enjoy a night on the town every now and then. To give you an idea of what 50 dollars a month in Myanmar looks like, this amount will be roughly equal to a part time job in a smaller more rural area of the country. I think it is important to provide these 4 students not only money for living expense but also as a means to enjoy themselves every once and a while. Most importantly, should there ever be any sort of medical emergency, they will have some money on hand to go see a doctor and buy medicine.

I cannot begin to tell all of you the sacrifices the disciples have  wilingly and joyfully made in order to follow God's will for them. They have been such a blessing to myself and the Lisu people, and I know that God will continue to use them for His kingdom.  My hope is that God would use us and this platform to be a blessing to them, so that they can get the most out of their time studying at IMCP.
