My trip to US Solar Eclipse

Hello my name is Julian Weßel, I'm an astrophotographer and Geophysics Student from Germany. My biggest wish is to be in the US in August 2017 to witness the Solar Eclipse and do experiments during the totality.
My goal is to launch a weather balloon into the stratosphere to get exclusive pictures of the eclipse from high altitude and measure the strength of the earths magnetic field with a magnetometer during totality.
In detail I'll send a GoPro to an altitude of 30000m or higher. The sky will be pitch black and you'll see the shadow of the eclipse in all it's glory. Maybe it's possible to see stars and planets during totality.

To make my trip happen I need:
- Flight to the US
- Weather Balloon Equipment
- Rental Car
- Gas and Food
It would be great to make this event happen and share the footage all over the world. To give you something back I'll send a personal postcard from the US to every donor and you'll be named in the video.
