My Niece Fights Lupus

Hi everyone! This is Maria Ivy Jamila - Jean's (Jean Jamila Esguerra Salan) aunt. I was asked by my niece to create a fundraising campaign here in Denmark since Philippines is excluded as one of the supported countries for this program. Last year my niece need to stop working because she got sick with an unknown illness and lately classified as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). We were totally shocked because she seems so healthy. It started with a severe headache, on and off fever, rashes, & muscle pains all over her body. From that moment, her life changed so much. Sometimes she seems okay and sometimes she can't even stand due to muscle pains. In her latest check up, she was diagnosed with Lupus Nehpritis which already affected her kidneys. The doctor decided to admit her in the hospital because of the complications caused by Lupus. She has high blood pressure and pneumonia. Her mother and only sister have so far survived her medical expenses with the help of some relatives. But this year is so rough! They almost have nothing left on their savings. My niece has 3 children and the eldest is a special child that they are also supporting since she is no longer working. Her husband is a contractual employee and his salary is not enough to support the family. Her mother (my sister) even sacrificed her medications in order to provide for my niece's medical expenses. I want to help her and this is the least thing that I can do. I want her to live longer for her children. She is right now in the hospital fighting against lupus and the hospital bill is increasing daily. She really is strong and positive in battling all her pains.
