My dog Reggie Needs a Colonoscopy

$915 of $1,400 goal

Raised by 20 people in 4 months
In summer 2017, my 13-year-old French Bulldog/pug, Reggie, began having severe diarrhea. In March 2018, I took him to a specialist and she recommended a colonoscopy based on an abnormality in his large intestine that she found. I tried all conservative medications and methods for 6 more months, but in September, his regular vet told me we did all we could, and we cannot diagnose his condition without the colonoscopy.

His symptoms have been getting worse and he is in pain. He is losing his appetite and his energy. He is a very sensitive and loving dog, and normally filled with a lot of spunk. Reggie is my best friend and my family. All we have is each other at this point in our lives.

I need financial assistance because I lost my job earlier this year, and I am struggling to pay for Reggie's vet bills and my own expenses without any other financial support.

I lost my other dog, my 16-year-old pug, Lizzie, in October, and I can't lose Reggie, too. The doctor said it may be cancer, but we won't know until Reggie has the procedure. Based on his current status, she said we can treat his condition, and possibly save his life and reduce his pain, once we know for sure if it is cancer or an autoimmune disease.

Any contributions, large or small, will be greatly appreciated.35057886_1543864495679241_r.jpeg

I think he might be getting used to the stroller...finally...the first 3 days, Reggie was not into it...there was barking, a lot of barking, inside Jittery Joes, the one with the echo:) He would look for me, while I was pushing the stroller, to make sure I was still with him. We have been writing here for 2 hours...not a peep. He's either been sleeping or resting with his head on the edge...Lizzie used to do that, too.
Lately he always wants to know where I am, if he can't see me he gets scared. He just watches me, whatever I'm doing.

Thank you again to all of you who generously donated to help pay for the colonoscopy.

I've described what is happening in detail on my blog at www.jillhartmanneditor.com

Thank you again to everyone who has donated. I am going to keep the GoFundMe fundraiser open through Christmas Day, in case anyone wants to add to the donations - given the test results - any further contributions will help with the cost of the original exam and procedure, and with the follow up care which began on 12/14/18.

I have posted a thorough update on my 12/14/18 blog post called Two Paws Too Many on my website: www.jillhartmanneditor.com

Please message me with questions or feedback any time, and I can tell you that if it were not for this test, I would not have known what has been causing Reggie to continue to get worse. Thank you from Reggie and me!
