My Car Was Totalled In An Accident

Donation protected
I am a 16 year old Junior in High School. I also take an Engineering Course before my High School classes. I am a member of the High School Bowling Team, I play percussion in the High School Band, and I have a part-time job. I saved money and purchased my own vehicle when I was 15 years old, and with the help of my mom and step-dad, I brought this 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle  back to life. I paid my car insurance every month, but unfortunately, at the time, I could only afford plpd. I loved this car and the freedom it allowed me to take myself back and forth to work. On a whim I could say, "I'll take the extra shift at work" because I had my own vehicle. My parents both work, but they can't afford to buy another vehicle. On January 3rd, 2020, I was driving home from my grandparent's house so I could get ready for work. As I approached an intersection going east, to which I had the green light, I could see the end of a funeral procession clear the intersection headed north. Cars in the lane next to me started to inch forward, so I proceeded to regain speed thinking the procession had cleared. There was another car farther back creating a gap that hadn't cleared the intersection yet, which is why it had appeared that the procession had ended. The other car accelerated to catch up to the procession, running the red light, which a procession can do. I didn't see the car, and the other car didn't see me. We collided in the intersection, spinning my car into the opposite direction. I believe we were partly both to blame. The other driver suffered a scratch to their neck from the seat belt. I was wearing my seat belt and slammed my face into my steering wheel so hard, I bent the wheel, and suffered a fractured nose and lacerations to the forehead and nose requiring surgery. I also broke the metal dashboard with my knees and suffered a sprained ankle putting me on crutches for 10 days causing me to have to miss work. In the process, my eyeglasses were broken, my teeth were loosened, I suffered a fracture to my jaw, I was severely bruised and my car is totalled from the impact. I am thankful that it wasn't worse, and that the other driver is okay. My auto insurance paid my medical bills, but I am out of a car. I currently have $400 saved up in my bank account. I am in desperate need of a car. Currently, my grandfather has changed his entire work schedule to drive me back and forth to my 7am Engineering course, that I take before my regular High School classes. He then has to pick me up from there, drop me to high school, pick me back up from school, and then take me to work. My step-dad picks me up from work later in the evening. Between this and all of the doctor's  appointments,  I am stretching everyone thin on time., and have lost my independence in the process. Being as I'm 16 and have only had a part-time job since October, I will only get about $200 back on my taxes, but that will be another few months away. I'm asking if my friends and family could donate to help me get back on the road. Any small amount would help. $5, $20, anything. If you can not donate, I understand. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
