Help Collin Fight Lymphoma

Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,

On Friday of this week, Feb. 20, 2015, 12 yr. old Collin's cough and cold seemed to have gotten a little worse, so his mom took him to Urgent Care. Little did they know, they were in for the fight of their lives.

Go back just a few days. It's Mardi Gras and parades in New Orleans are rolling. Collin and family are happy and healthy like the rest of us. Collin plays league baseball on a #1 Team named Havoc. He is always cheered on by his Little League Family and they even went to the World Series last year! He is his Mom's right arm always - helping her throughout her pregnancy - making sure she always had three healthy meals a day, never lifting anything too heavy after his baby sister Savannah was born just 2 months ago and being the BEST big brother on the planet! So caring, loving, attentive...truly one of the sweetest, active, healthiest kids we've all met! Collin even goes with his mom, (Tanya) on a business trip to help babysit lil' sis and ends up with a cough and cold - no big deal, right?

Well, after waking up yesterday and having a little trouble breathing, Tanya takes the troops to Urgent Care where the doctors x-ray and "POW!" Before they know it, Collin is being whisked off in a helicopter to a Pensacola Hospital for immediate lung drainage and further examination by specialist doctors. The potential diagnosis from the Urgent Care? They tell Tanya, "we think it is Lymphoma and it doesn't look good". From Pensacola they then airlift Collin back to New Orleans Children's Hospital so he can be nearer to where his family, friends and support system live, as well as where the best care facility is located.

This morning, one day after feeling he had a bad cough and cold, Collin and his family are told that he has Stage III T-Cell Lymphoma. Within 24 hrs. Collin went from a happy heathly young child of 12 to having his lungs drained, his heart tapped and drained of fluid, a spinal tap performed and bone marrow biopsied. Also, his kidneys are now failing so he is being taken into a Dialysis Treament as this is being written. Once he is strong enough after the dialysis, the doctors want him to undergo his first Chemotherapy Treatment TODAY. They say we must act aggressively to try and prevent any spreading of this awful cancerous disease.

This new chapter in Collin's life poses immeasurable physical, emotional, and financial pressures for him and their entire family. We are helping him collect donations, large or small, to help cover medical bills during his procedures, surgeries, treatments, hospitals stays and therapies, as well as other costs that are arising as they begin this long process.

Thank you in advance for your donation through this GoFundMe website, and please keep Collin and his entire family in your thoughts and prayers,

Love,
Friends of Collin
