On behalf of the Lutz family and in memory of our brother, Michael Lutz, please join us to support Michael's daughters...Abigail & Isabelle Lutz.
Michael's biggest accomplishment was simply his two beautiful daughters and his biggest dream for the both of them was to focus on their education. Raised in the Catholic School System, Michael always dreamed of both of his girl attending Divine Savior Holy Angels (DSHA). His wish came true in early January 2016 when Isabelle was accepted into the program!
Our family continues to be very proud of how well the girls continue to fulfill their father's wishes and how they continue to persevere with all the love and support around them.
In Isabelle's essay for DSHA entrance questionnaire, she wrote the following to a question of service to others.
"Service to others is an essential part of the message of Jesus and thus, of our Catholic faith. Describe your experience with community service areas in which you want to perform service while a student at DSHA. "
"During this year I have learned the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and the impact this disorder has on the many people that suffer from this illness. I have experienced this first hand with my father’s death and realize how hard it was on him and how hard his death has been on my family. Though I recognized his disorder, I did not have the social or educational skills to support my father during his most difficult time. If I were to be a student at DSHA, I would want to use the resources around me to learn more about mental illnesses, the effects it has on many people, including their family members. I would try to establish a fundraising charity to raise money for children, teens and their families that have lost their parents due to mental or physical illness. The money would go to providing these adolescences and their families with the appropriate resources to help them through situations like mine. I have been fortunate to be surrounded by my mom and many others that provided my sister and I with much love and support. However, through my own experience I know the helpful impact these resources had on me and, therefore, I would like to help other families going through similar experiences that are not as fortunate."
In support of Michael's two daughters, we would like to continue to raise money for their educational expenses at DSHA, while also supporting and assisting their wishes to give back to a charity which supports Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Suicide Awareness!
Abigail and Isabelle will hand deliver a monetary value to these charities following our benefit and we will be setting up an event page for all of you to follow along with us in their inaugural benefit for their father, Michael Lutz.
