Thanks for stopping by my page! I'm Seerat Kaur Malhotra from Mumbai, India. I'm 18 years old and I’ve been making music for the past three years. Now I want to take my music career to the next level by releasing my first single.
This is such an important step that I don't want to do it just for myself... I want to give something back to the community. So all profits from this musical release will be donated to the Motherhood project: a community-made movie that is currently in pre-production.
When I first heard about Motherhood - the first ever 3D animated movie about the life of Mata Sahib Kaur ji - I knew that it was the perfect opportunity for me. Since a young age, Mata Sahib Kaur ji has been my role model. She was a woman of remarkable leadership and diplomacy. She knew how to read and write Gurmukhi, as well as horse riding and the use of arms. She led the Sikh nation with great strength and dignity, and still had a sweet love for Guru Gobind Singh ji.
I'm very excited to be releasing two tracks in support of this fantastic project:
1. Shabad (composition of Guru Arjan Dev ji)
2. Poem (written by UK-based lyricist, Ikjot Kaur from London)
Both of these tracks will follow themes connected to women, Sikhism, strength and spirituality.
The purpose of my musical release is to spread the special importance of Women in Sikh history. My desire is to put a smile on people’s faces and inspire them to reach their highest potential in life. When people listen to these tracks, I want them to associate themselves with the feeling of the Motherhood project, and feel empowered.
Motherhood is a project for the Sangat by the Sangat. Everyone is helping in any way they can. So I am helping by making this music to support the movie.
I am working in collaboration with the acclaimed Music Director T.A.V, Tavleen Singh from Punjab, to make the best quality music possible. My plan is to launch these singles in the first week of June. To do that, I want to ask for your support. I need to raise £2000 to fund the production costs. This money will cover the backing track, instruments, mixing and mastering for both tracks.
So please get involved and help me achieve my lifelong dream of becoming a professional musician. Your money will ultimately go to an even greater cause - the Motherhood project.
