Help us bring Fungi to the People!
We'd love your help raising funds to put towards a new market vehicle and continued upgrades to our facility as we strive to make mushrooms more accessible to more people. We're not asking for donations, but investments, purchases that will be redeemable later this summer, in order to help us prepare for farmers market season.
Since it's inception, Mycophile's Garden Gourmet Mushroom Farm + Foraging Service has been a collaboration of funds and dreams and labor. Without any outside investment, or major significant funds of our own, we've managed to build a successful business that brings joy to our hearts and to many of our customers, as well as delicious, healthful mushrooms.
As farmers market season approaches, we find ourselves without a committed market vehicle. Having the meager income of a grassroots farmer, and little credit history as an independent entrepreneur; I find myself unable to procure even a used car loan on a suitable vehicle at a rate that would be reasonably affordable.
Mycophile's has seen extremely promising annual growth, and provided my full income for a few years, but I re-invest nearly every penny at this stage, and this vehicle issue has struck at the worst time of year for me financially.
As a last resort, and with great humility, I've come here to look to the very community that I so deeply love to serve and ask for your help. I'm offering rewards and purchases redeemable in the coming weeks, but you can feel free to donate as well.

Option 1:
$20 or more will get you a $20 Mycophile's gift certificate redeemable for any cultivated mushroom varieties at any of our markets after July 1st, 2019. We ask that you wait until July to redeem these in order to give us time to get caught up on things this May and June.
Option 2:
Also for $20 or more, you may chose to receive a full size mushroom grow kit. Get a full sized mushroom production block, just like we use at our farm. These giant kits can grow up to 5 pounds of mushrooms over a month or two. Just keep them humid and give them fresh air. We will provide you with detailed instructions, as well as access to personalized advice on how to take care of your kit. Choose from a variety of mushrooms and skill levels. Similar kits sell for $20 at some stores but produce roughly 1/5 of the mushrooms that our often do. These are available immediately upon your donation.
Option 3:
Free Admission to Mushroom Class + Kit
$50 or more
We're planning some Mushroom Cultivation and Culinary/Health classes for Fall of 2019 and would love to have you join us for a contribution of $50 or more. Date and location are yet to be determined, but we intend to offer a few classes around West Michigan and hope to continue doing them beyond that. The classes will consist of 2 hours of dedicated instruction from Chris with input from other area mushroom farmers, as well as time for Q&A, and a small mushroom grow kit, or spawn bag, to take home and grow yourself. Help us keep spreading the love of fungi!
