Murphy's Aural Hematoma Surgery

Donation protected
Last Tuesday on October 30th, I discovered a lump on Murphy's ear about the size of an avocado pit. We watched it for a few days per the vet's request before determining it was an aural hematoma. For those unfamiliar, a hematoma is a ruptured blood vessel (or artery in his case) that causes a blood clot. Murphy woke me up Saturday morning at about 4:30am uncontrollably shaking his head and in a lot of pain, he had ruptured his newly healed artery again. His ear is now the swollen to the size of a golf ball, closing off the hearing in his left ear completely. We thought he would need emergency surgery but the vet told us to wait until his artery healed a second time.
My boyfriend, Aidan, and I have been saving to move out by January so I can go back to school. Finding the hematoma on Murphy sent us on a tailspin, there was nothing we could have done to prepare for this and now were out the $1,300 it takes for his surgery.
For those of you who know Murphy, you know he is the biggest ball of love and happiness. And for those who don't know him, I beg you to reach into your heart to help me help the one who means the most to me.
Thank you!!
