Mercedes' Mission Trip to Thailand

Hola!! My name is Mercedes and I am just a 23 year old who has been blessed with this opportunity to serve in Bangkok, Thailand with Red Light Ministry and Adventures in Mission for 6 days (May 20, 2017-May 26, 2017)
I was 18 years old, fresh out of high school when I realized that God has given me a heart for young adults and women in need. For the past several years, I have always wanted to go on a mission trip, but there has never been a trip that tugged on my heart... Until now!
Behind Thailand's beautiful beaches, the Thai people's ever-smiling faces, and the lush tropical jungles lies a terrible secret: modern day slavery. As the Thai economy strengthens and the natural beauty draws visitors, tourism of different sort also flourishes. Human trafficking and sexual tourism continues to grow. The women and children of Thailand need to be freed from the bondage of poverty and sexual exploitation.
I will be living missionally while in Bangkok, where I will have an opportunity to learn from the ministries on the front lines of human trafficking. I also get to spend time with the women who left the bars and are in process of restoration.
While in Bangkok, I pray I will be able to share love and hope for the future to women trapped in prostitution. To share a promise of forgiveness that they have never imagine.
This is just the beginning of a beautiful journey of following the purpose that God has on my life. Please start praying with me!
