Dear Friends:
It is my honor and privilege to officially take my reign as the newly crowned Ms. New York Plus America 2015. During my reign I will represent New York State as a delegate in the Miss Plus America Pageant in July of 2015.
The Miss Plus America Pageant System is an organization devoted to celebrating the essence of the full-figured woman. For the last fourteen years, it has been the premier plus size pageant. Miss Plus America, and its Queens, have been featured in Time Magazine, the Huffington Post, Entertainment Tonight, Dr. Phil, and the Examiner amongst other press outlets. Our present and former Queens are trailblazers in various industries including Education, Politics and Social Services. I am honored to use my reign to help empower, impact, and elevate my community.
As Ms. New York Plus America 2015, I will have the opportunity to further promote my platform: Childhood Obesity and Positive Body Image as I represent Finding Alternatives To Gain impacting Results for Life (F.A.T.G.I.R.L.). More information about F.A.T.G.I.R.L. can be found on our website at www.fatgirlmovement.net. After having struggled with my own issues of child hood obesity and body image, it has become apparent to me in my 168 pound weight loss journey that there are other girls that are just like me who suffer in silence. As your delegate I will introduce alternative as well as traditional programs that impact and empower the mind, body and spirit of obese girls in the urban community.
My overall financial goal is $2,000.00. This includes my fees, travel, lodging, and all other associated cost. I am asking each of my friends for a donation $20 or more to help me achieve my goal. However, no amount is to bigor too small.
Your support will help to ensure that I reach my goal as I prepare for both the State and National title. Once crowned, I promise to represent you and your communities as we fight Childhood Obesity one child and one pound at a time.
