The Ms Ghana USA organization was founded 2012 by former beauty queen and health professional Gloria Opare. She stablished the mission of this beauty pageant to be recognized as a world class organization that consistently brings amazing Ghanaian women to the forefront and supports them as they work to achieve their individual goals in the context of their cultural roots. The Ms Ghana USA mission is to find and promote exceptional women with a strong interest in education, humanitarian issues, and promoting the ghanaian culture throughout the U.S.
Over several years, queens have returned back to suffering communities in Ghana to help resolve a variety of issues such as mental and physical disabilities in children, infant immortality, community illiteracy, and contaminated water. The queens have raised thousands of dollars to support charities and non-profits in Ghana as well as donated hundreds of gifts, food, clothing, books, and school supplies for Ghanaians in need. Queens have also established their own charities to continue their humanitarian efforts after their reign.
For the MGUSA orgnaization itself to continue various charitable efforts, the organization relies on external funding. This year, MGUSA is seeking to raise $1,200 by December 2018. These funds will directly support this year's pageant as well as the future charitable works the reigning queen carries out in Ghana each year during her time of service.
Please support this growing pageant, and let's encourage more young, educated Ghanaian women to give back to their homeland!
Sincerely,
Ms Ghana USA team
