On June 17th Emily Oldfield, David Kendrick, Mehdi Adjiri and Nicola Hamblin will be taking part in the Samworth Brother's Charity Challenge. This is an all day triathalon style event in the Lake District which involves 9 hours of running, cycling, canoeing and an obstacle course.
We are raising money for one of Emily's closest friends, Jessica Lenihan, who was diagnosed on her 26th birthday in September 2016 with a very rare and aggressive cancer, known as cholangiocarcinoma. Her cancer is, unfortunately, already in its final stages and has spread to her liver, lungs and lymph nodes.
Jess is currently undergoing chemotherapy however, sadly for this type of cancer, it can only control the disease for an average of 11 months. Already being 7 months in to chemotherapy, we are therefore hoping to raise money for private treatment as this is her best possible chance of slowing the growth of the cancer or, in the best circumstances, put it into remission entirely.
We are all currently training hard for the event and would really appreciate any support that you are able to give to ensure Jess the best possible future. All money raised will be donated to Jess' main GoFundMe page which has more information on the private treatment element*
