Donation protected
Hello friends of the sea. Welcome to year three. We are at it again because cancer is a taker and our goal is to give just as much right back.
What cancer can’t touch is our spirit, our drive and our will to live every day to its fullest potential. A community of people giving back in a very grass roots way. We are not a foundation or a charity - we don’t have red tape. Our goal is a simple one - fill envelopes with donations and get them in the hands of families dealing with cancer. A breath of normalcy for them - thanks to you.
A bit of history for you:
In the spring of 2015, our crew of 6 paddlers took on the challenge of paddling relay style for 24 hours. Our goal was singular: Raise awareness and funds for local families arm wrestling with cancer. The community rallied around us and we raised $5000 and filled 5 envelopes with $1000 each, hand delivered to 5 families letting them know that they are not alone.
In the spring of 2016 we grew to 7 teams of six paddling across the US and Canada. Collectively we were able to raise $50,000 delivering 50 envelopes to families in the thick of cancer.
On April 15th of this year - Nineteen teams and growing, will once again be paddling from 8 a.m on the 15th until 8 a.m on the 16th.
As one person it is difficult to make a difference - but as a community - we are proving that making a difference is more than possible - it is a joy.
Our location is once again home based out of Urban Surf on Lake Union. Robin and the crew are awesome. Please make sure to thank them in person.
Please come out, say hello, cheer loud and even better join in for some time on the water!
Looking forward to seeing you the 15th.
Team Seattle.
