Meet our 4 year old Mikey!
Mikey was born with a congenital heart disease called Tetralogy of Fallot, Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCAS. Mikey has endured countless surgeries to try to help his MAPCAS grow and to keep him stable. Despite the surgeries, he has continued to stay out of breath, blue and pale.
In August of 2017, Mikey was diagnosed with chronic right ventricle heart failure. After meeting with a new cardiac team in September of 2018, his heart failure has turned terminal.
Mikey went in for open heart surgery on Monday, 6/10/19. After the surgeon performed the wrong surgery and Mikey suffered major issues, he was declared brain dead on Tuesday, 6/11/19, so his father and I removed him from life support. Mikey was only 4.5 years old.
