Moving My Family to Safety

Donation protected
I hate posting the terrible things in our life but my family is currently being targeted by Nazis and we have to take quick action.

In October 2017, new tenants moved into the unit below ours. They weren't pleasant, but having have been the "new kids on the block" who were judged solely on appearance, my wife and I gave them the benefit of the doubt.

My wife works at home, and over the months she noticed that they were teaching their giant German Shepard commands in German. A friend of hers, who's been stationed in Germany many times and speaks fluently, made it clear those particular commands were used by Nazis.

Anytime my wife and kids go into our basement, the man downstairs magically appears and stares at them. She's heard him whisper anti-Semitic slurs under his breath. The man wears a jacket with a swastika on it and has late night visitors in similar garb.

A few nights ago I was walking my dogs to our side yard for a late night bathroom break when their dog attacked our pug and myself. They didn't do much to stop the dog and didn't apologize. We went down to ask for a copy of their rabies vaccine, but they couldn't find it at the time. I gave them my business card and asked them to call me when they found it, but when we never heard from them we called animal control.

On April 19th the man waited for me to leave the house so he could harass my family. He aggressively followed my oldest son outside, demanded to talk to my wife, and stayed on our front porch knocking on the door for 15 solid minutes with that dog. My wife locked the door and told him she wasn't comfortable speaking to him without me home. He went up our back stairs and attempted to break into our home. After about ten minutes he gave up, but remained outside as to trap my wife so she could not leave.

My wife locked the kids and our dogs in a back room and I called the police. She didn't want to drag the kids to the station to make a report, and she didn't want the embarrassment of having a cop car outside our house. She also knew something was off about him and did not want the presence of police to aggravate the situation further. The man then showed up at my office in downtown Boston but couldn't get past security.

I filed a police report but the police disregarded the whole thing because I didn't mention the antisemitism. Later, after having received about a dozen calls on a blocked number, I picked it up and the man demanded to speak with me face to face. When I went to discuss the situation with him, he handed me a copy of the rabies certificate along with a card that was from a gang called "The Devils Disciples." I asked him not to scare my wife and kids again and he made it clear he had no intention of stopping because we called animal control. He also made it known that our lives would get a lot harder very quickly because of "who he is". I brought the card and rabies certificate to the police and they responded "ok we will add it to the file thanks."

Since my original Facebook post the police have been much more supportive, but we are now forced to move from our home ASAP so my family can feel safe again.

A lot of people wanted to know how they could help, and I feel so awkward about asking, but we could use a little extra money for movers and increased cost of living for the next few months while we figure out what we're going to do.

Since we have pets our options are limited, but we found a secure building in town that will take us for a 3-4 month lease and ASAP move-in. Unfortunately, it's 50-75% more expensive than where we are and we'll also have to pay for parking.

All we want is to feel safe while our kids finish out their last two months of school. I don't expect that we'll raise all the money, but any help we could get right now would be tremendous.
