Move Our Piano/Honeymoon Fund

Alex and I want to move our grand piano to our home together in New Mexico. It is located at my Mom's house in Texas, and I have not been able to have it with me throughout college and graduate school, mostly because of the cost of moving it, and space issues (tiny 3rd-floor apartments do not make a good home for grand pianos). Now that Alex and I have bought a home, we would love to finally be able to move it!

Moving a grand piano is quite expensive, especially between states, due to the extreme care that must be taken to package it properly and keep the temperature and humidity well-controlled. Additionally, we will need to pay to have it reassembled and tuned once it reaches us in New Mexico. Alex and I both love playing the piano, and unfortunately we have not really had the ability to play for the last several years, except on our small electronic keyboard. Music is an important part of our lives and we are very excited to bring the piano home.

Any donations toward this cause would be greatly appreciated!!! If we exceed the cost of moving the piano, we will put any additional donations toward our honeymoon trip. We are planning to go to Hawaii for a whale-watching excursion (we will be there during peak humpback whale migration season), and visit the two Hawaiian National Parks -- something we have wanted to do for several years.

When we started thinking about a traditional wedding registry, we decided we didn't really need any more "stuff" for around the house, as much as we would appreciate the gesture. But, music and travel are two of our biggest passions -- they are things that have we continue to enjoy together -- and so we are very grateful for your gift.
