Mountain Community Weather Station

Greetings, as many of you know I have been running this weather station since January of 2003. The first 10 years were in Pine Mountain Club and since 2014 the station has been located in Frazier Park, Ca. The location of the station is LAT 34.82109 & LON -118.96053 at an elevation of 4940 FASL (Feet Above Sea Level). The station and equipment being used is a Davis Vantage Pro II with Ambient Weather Software for internet updating and data sharing. The most popular Call signs are KCAFRAZI5 (Wunderground.Com) and EW5906 (Citizen Weather Observer Program) and we are also an official weather spotter for the Mountain Communities. We provide weather online and via email (by request) for everyone. The website's data is updated every 5 minutes with live feeds available from Wunderground.Com.

As you can imagine this is extremely useful for our communities since our weather can change in minutes, especially in the winter months. We keep our website running and can send out warning notices for upcoming inclement weather, all as a community service.

I believe it goes without saying this does carry expenses to run and until the last few years we have paid for 100% of the services, equipment and time to keep this station and its services going for all of us. Since my health forced me to retire and now am living on a very fixed income I am asking folks to PLEASE help with monthly expenses by donating to our Weather Station. It doesn’t matter if it’s $5, it all helps offset the expenses for us and will insure this station stays online!
