Mother diagnosed with cancer needs reliable car

I am a single mother of two amazing teen girls. I was working for the Salvation Army as Director of Bridging the Gap working with at risk teens.
In January I was diagnosed with stage III ovarian cancer. I had a mass the size of a baby's head on both ovaries, uterus, and colon. I underwent a successful surgery. I got a full hysterectomy, colon reconstruction, removal of my appendix, fat pad over liver and part of my liver. They were able to get 95% of the cancer, however the rest was scattered throughout my abdomen. I went through 18 weeks of chemo and in May I was Cancer Free. Unfortunately, in September my labs detected an increase in my cancer markers and in October it was confirmed my cancer had returned and it was aggressive. Because my cancer is so aggressive I most likely will never get rid of it and will have to stay on some form of treatment. Currently I am in a trial and it is going well. The cancer has spread to 3 of my lymph nodes, my diaphragm below my lungs and my liver.
I drive a 2002 GMC Envoy that has over 200,000 miles on it. On Monday December 10th on my way to chemo my engine started idling high and I was unable to go over 40 miles an hour. Luckily, I made it back to the house and a good friend got me to chemo. I drive into Boston to the Dana Faber Cancer Institute from Lowell MA (about 25 miles). I need a reliable car to get me to my appointments as well as transporting my girls to school and activities. Because of my compromised immune system public transportation is not an option.
I need a car as soon as possible. Both of my daughters are involved in after school activities and rely on me to pick them up. I cannot afford to put money into a car that is not going to last. And honestly I do not have money to put into fixing the car.
A reliable car would make my life so much easier and take a major stress off my shoulders and allow me to focus on getting better. It will also give me my independence back. I have a great support system but would like to be able to transport myself and my children. Please if you can help I would greatly appreciate it
