Hello Everyone, my niece, a German Shepherd named Morgan, got hit by a car while in my care yesterday. She is the sweetest dog I have ever met. Absolutely beautiful, and so kind. She is my nephew Owen's best friend!! Owen is two years old and takes naps and sleeps through the night laying on Morgan.
Yesterday we were out doing yard work and Owen wanted his dog outside with us so bad, he accidentally let her out and we live on a very busy street. We were all running around trying to get her back in the house. Unfortunately she ran to the street and got hit by a car. In front of all of us and the kids who love her.
We brought Morgan to Cape Cod Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Bourne MA. She is in the ICU and is going to live...thank God! They are monitoring her for internal bleeding and brain swelling but the biggest issue is her left leg. She has a clean break and with surgery and casting should get full use of her leg again!!!
As many of you pet owners know, when your pet gets hurt or sick you need to pay in full at the time of care. Morgan's quote from CCVH is over $8,000! My brother and his wife were able to get half of that but not all of it. My brother and his wife have been going through a hard time and now their baby Morgan is hurting and they are trying to help her and save her leg. If any of you know Morgan you know how sweet she is and how much she takes care of her humans! Please help us take care of her now.
I feel so bad!!! She was in my care and I feel like I failed her. The look in her eyes when I ran up to her is indescribable! At that moment in her pain she looked at me to help her and it was like everything around me stopped. I'm doing everything I can think of to help get the rest of the money needed for her medical care. She is our family, she is my niece, she is so much more than a pet to us.
