My name is Morgan Ramirez, I'm 18 years old, and I'm currently a senior at Naples American High School in Naples, Italy. I am very passionate about music and it means a lot to me. Through music, I have made many genuine and lasting friendships.
I have been performing since the age 7. I started off in piano recitals, violin recitals, and church performances. In middle school, I played baritone saxophone and alto saxophone in band. When I got to high school, I joined the high school choir and their Chamber Singers and handbell choir. I sang tenor 1 at La Sierra Choral Festival in 2012 and 2014. I sang tenor 2 at the westcoast debut of Oh My Son at Walt Disney Concert Hall. I sang as 2nd bass 1 at DoDDS All-European Honors Choir. I was awarded with the National School Choral Award in 2015. I've also been in 4 musical productions: The Sound of Music (Rolf), Peter Pan (Chief Tiger Bamboo ), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Joseph), and The Music Man (Ewart).
I am raising money for A Cappella Academy. It is an intensive summer program created by Rob Dietz, Ben Bram, and Avi Kaplan. It is for kids ages 13-18 who come from all over the world to make a capella music. It is held in Los Angeles, California at Mount St. Mary's University. In 2015, I auditioned for the camp, but wasn't accepted. However, it motivated to improve my voice and audition again. In 2016, I am one out of 73 admitted students out of 556 total auditions, the top 13%. I am extremely honored and privileged to be accepted to camp this year.
