More bench space

Emma and I moved into a house with no practicality. The shower doesn't work, there is a bath but it's too small and the paint comes off, there is a NBN box but no coaxial port, most importantly however, THERE IS NO BENCH SPACE.  

I want to so badly do the dishes but I can't organise them so that I can wash them in an order, (I have OOCD. And frankly I've seen Emma sit and make wraps ON THE FLOOR, too many times for me to believe that it's hygienic. 

Please help our poor little house, (which we signed a lease for, for a year), more liveable.
