Moorea's Maccabi Games Campaign

My name is Moorea Linker and I just qualified to represent Team USA for gymnastics at the Maccabi Games in Israel in July. Did you know that the Maccabi Games is the 3rd largest international sports cometition in the world, behind only the Summer and Winter Olympics?
I am so excited for this incredible opportunity to represent the U.S.A.!
The Maccabi Games isn't just a sports competition, it is an amazing experience of culture, education, religion, building camaraderie with other athletes from around the world. I am so looking forward to the opportunity to visit many cultural and historic sites over the 3 weeks that I will be in the Holy Land.
I have been a competitive gymnast for almost my whole life (I am 14 now). Through my hard work and dedication I am thrilled to have been able to reach this goal.
My experience will start with something called Israel Connect, where every athlete participates in the six-day program prior to the opening of the World Maccabiah Games. During this time, the athletes travel to cultural and historic sites to experience firsthand their own connection with Israel and Judaism. The athletes also have the opportunity to participate in a unique B’nai Mitzvah ceremony, either for the first time or to reaffirm their commitment to Judaism. The ISRAEL CONNECT program has been a highlight for the majority of Maccabi USA athletes that have participated since the program began in 1989, strengthening their bonds with Israel and Judaism.
After that, the opening ceremonies! After watching some You Tube videos of the athletes entering the stadium, it has just made it even more exciting.
The next 2 weeks will be spent in the athlete's village, just like the Olympic Games. Getting to meet and visit with other Jewish athletes from around the world and tour Israel together is the experience of a lifetime.
This incredible opportunity comes with quite the financial undertaking for us to be able to go and that is why I am asking you for help. No amount is too small and no amount is too big. Just know that whatever you can do will help me accomplish a goal that I have worked so hard for.
