Hello, my name is Monica. I am a 27 year old mother, daughter and fighter. I was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2010. At the young age of 21, I couldn't believe that this was really happening to me. I was in total state of denial. Due to insuance and care options my family and I decided to move to WA state. There I began doing hemodialysis which was not for me, or my body. I was very sick after each treatement and I decided to stop. After 6 months in 2012 I was then put on Peritonial Dialysis. The catheter placement was not easy. It was a very painful surgery and the anesthesia made me very sick. I was lucky to have family visiting at the time to help. Peritonial dialysis has not been an easy task. It is a very sanitary process and it requires a lot of storage for all the supplies that are used everyday. It is also a very expensive treatement. Treatment i cannot live without.
In 2014 I was diagnosed with another devestating condition, congestive heart failure. I was shocked. I was told that I would require a pacemaker in order for my heart to keep functioning at a good level. It was then that we decided we needed help. After meeting some amazing and caring people in Washington state we were sad to leave once more. The family and I packed up and we moved back to Idaho to have help from family and friends. In Idaho I aquired a private health insurance with a very high monthly premium but it is necessary. Even with the best insurance i can get i am still accumulating bills everyday. But that is not stopping me from reaching for what i need. I require a kidney transpant in order to be off dialysis everyday. It is a painful and not very pretty process. Not to mention also very expensive.
I am fundraising to help out in any way that I can. Many people have already donated their time and money to help, now its my turn. I want this to be over. I want the transplant more than anything else I have wanted in my life before. But that won't make it happen, it is not an easy thing. There are many physical and mental test, along with blood test in order to find a match. Then there is also finding a living donor. Someone that is willing to give me a chance at life and will donate the precious kidney to me. If no living donor is found or matched then there is the wait and search for a cadaver donor. That I have been told could take years.
Then there is the financial aspect of all this. A kidney transplant is not a cheap procedure. Even after a year probationary period from the health insurance company I am made to have a secondary insuance. There is copays to pay, traveling to the transplant center which is not in Idaho state, living cost, and then there is the immunosuppressive medicines after the transplant to make sure that the new kidney is not rejected.
I am asking for your help to share this. Get my story out there. I want to help my family in any way possible, they are my motivation to never stop fighting. Please share this and hold your loved ones even closer today. Hug them, kiss them, let them know that you loved them. You never know when they will be gone. Having these conditons has taught me to never take anything for granted, every minute of everyday is precious to me. Every one that I have met along the wayin my life and  in the past 5 years has inspired me in some way. Everyone that has helped already and those who will help I hold you dearly in my heart. If it wasn't for your kind help I this would never be possible, so I thank you dearly.
Please I am not a scam or a fake person. I am a real woman. You may contact me through this website or through facebook for more information or to verify that I do exist. Thank you again sincerely yours..

Monica Hernandez.
