Dutchco Presents: The Soothsayer
Donation protected
People are still getting very upset with my simple GoFundMe Drive. The original description was a joke, but in these dark, post-Trump days, I guess the humor has drained out of everything, so let me spell it out for you, very simply:
In the Fall, I am unveiling a new stage show, The Soothsayer. As part of the rehearsal process, as this show will rely on audience participation, I am doing a series of smaller, out of town shows. Most of these shows are to benefit various charities that I believe in. Towards that end, I won’t be making any money off them. In fact, I am going to bleed money, which is ok with me, it’s for a good cause and it’s helping my show in the Fall.
I know a lot of people that wouldn’t think twice about buying me beer if we were to run into each other in a bar. To help couch some of the up-front expense of mounting these shows, I’m simply asking my friends to take that money they would have spent on drinking with me, and drop it on this GoFundMe.
What’s a beer in a bar cost these days? Five bucks? Seven? Are you saying you can’t throw down the cost of beer? Maybe we had a couple beers. Toss in a 20. You big drinkers, like Dina, make it a hundred. The point is, I’m asking for you to pitch in, and I’ll tell you what; I’ll buy you a beer next time I see you after I put this show to bed.
