Momo goes on tour

Donation protected
"Momo and the Inevitable decay of the house in the forest" is an original piece of theatre written and directed by Kirsti Heitmann, performed by LOFT. It is a coming of age-story meets a Scandinavian crime drama, a playfully  theatrical,  modern macabre fairytale about loneliness and belonging.

We are performing the show at the Edinburgh Fringe the 2nd - 10th of August this year, before traveling to Finland (!!) to perform it at the Lahti Fringe festival 4th - 7th of September.

Lahti Fringe tickets coming soon. Have a look at the festival here: https://lahtifringe.fi/

LOFT is an international team of two Norwegian artists, three British artists, and a Sweden-based musician who is composing a completely original soundtrack for our show.  We first started developing this show during our final year of education, and we are very proud and excited to take the revised and improved version of it to professional venues nationally and internationally.

We are currently fundraising for our travelling expenses to Edinburgh and Finland.  This includes train and plane tickets, accommodation and catering.  We would like to book the above as soon as possible, so our aim is to have reached our goal by the end of May.
As we are a newly started company we do not expect to make a profit from our shows, but would be incredibly grateful for any help to make us break even. Performing the show at these festivals is our launchpad into the professional industry, so any help  we get  with funding this venture will help determine how smooth our debut will be.

While 1000 pounds will make a very big difference, it will not cover the full cost.  Luckily  we are receiving funding from our graduate school, The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, to help cover some of this, and are applying to other funding bodies. At this point, every little thing will make a difference for us!

PLOT:

Ellie Baines spends every childhood summer with her mum and dad in a crumbling family home in rural Finland. Surrounded by vast forests to explore and lakes to swim in, it is a paradise for curious children. But not for Ellie, not this year. Standing on the edge of puberty, Ellie's life is launched into chaos as her parents relationship is falling apart. No one seems to understand her, except Momo: a strange girl she meets in the silver birch forest.

Something terrible happened that summer - but what? As the story is gradually revealed to the audience, the line between reality and imagination blur and unravel.
