Donation protected

The Master Gardeners of the Ozarks is a University of Missouri volunteer organization dedicated to public horticultural education. Our local chapter of 107 Master Gardeners will be hosting the 2018 Missouri Master Gardener State Conference September 28-30, 2018.  Chateau on the Lake Resort and Convention Center in Branson, Missouri has been selected as our headquarters hotel. Our conference theme is "Harmony in the Garden".
We have a very motivated and dedicated planning committee working on making preparations for this program and they are developing workshops and tours for an estimated 250 participants that we are hoping to attract to the conference. Cody George, the noted Landscape Horticulturalist from Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, will be our keynote speaker. Many additional industry specialists and experts have been invited to provide educational content. Banquet meals, a welcome reception, vendors & exhibitors  plus an exciting silent auction will round out the activities and provide valuable networking opportunities.

We need your help.  In order to keep registration fees low and attract hundreds of Master Gardeners from Missouri and surrounding states, we need to raise funds to offset conference expenses. These include but are not limited to - bus transportation for attendee field trips, speaker fees and travel expenses, printing, signage, event marketing, meeting room rental and subsidizing attendee catered meals.

We will extend invitations to 2,000 Missouri Master Gardeners, plus Master Gardeners in Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Illinois and Tennessee.  Although this conference is designed for Master Gardeners, it will also be open to the general public.

Our Regional Agronomy Specialist is Tim Schnakenberg, MG. Our Conference Chairperson is Sharon Nance, MG.

Our Mission: to train volunteers to educate others about safe, effective and sustainable horticultural practices that build healthy gardens, landscapes and communities. The Missouri Master Gardener program strives to provide in-depth horticultural training to individuals throughout Missouri who then volunteer their time applying what they have learned to help others in their communities learn about gardening and environmental stewardship. Additionally, the Missouri Master Gardener program raises public awareness throughout Missouri of University of Missouri Extension as a source of unbiased, research-based gardening information.

We will use every opportunity to acknowledge all of our donors and sponsors before and during the conference. For more specifics on these opportunities, please contact Vienna Bowling, MG, with our Sponsorship Committee.
