Molly Likins: Deaflympics

My daughter, Molly Likins, has the opportunity to represent the United States in Samsun Turkey at the Deaflympics. This is a great honor for Molly. She has been swimming and working toward this since she was six years old. Molly is 16 and she is responsible to cover her training, travel, and equipment costs for competition. Molly has been deaf since birth and was fitted with cochlear implants at age 3 and at 13. She does not allow her deafness get in the way of her athletic or academic successes. 

Molly holds 4 US Deaf records in the breast stroke. She competed at the World Deaf Swim Championships in 2015, she was a bronze medalist in the 50 breast stroke. She was also named as an Academic All American for her grades and her participation in the WDSC.

Molly has had great success at the high school and club levels. Molly was named Times Herald Swimmer of the Year for 2016. She has competed in Division III MHSAA States all three years of high school. She was on a championship team for the 200 Medly Relay, she has been 4th  place (as a Freshman) and 2nd place (Sophomore and Junior) in the 100 yard breaststroke. 

Molly recently competed in the MHSAA Powerlifting State Championships and placed 5th in her weight class and broke a state record in the bench press. Molly finds success in everything she tries. 

We need to raise $5000 for her to go to the Deaflympics, we would like to raise $4000 by July 14. Any help and support is greatly appreciated. Molly will be in Turkey from July 15 through July 28th.
