Mission to Moldova

Thank you for checking out my fundraising page. My name is Lacy Llana, and I am a member at First Baptist Church in Thorndale, Texas. Two years ago, our previous pastor went on a mission trip with Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown, Texas to Moldova. When he came back with stories of the people, churches, and the love of Christ spread there, more were motivated to join him the following year. This is the first year that my schedule has allowed for me to join the team going on this trip.
Where are we going?
A little about Moldova: This country, landlocked between Ukraine and Romania is currently one of the most impoverished areas in Europe. It is in a consistent state of financial and political unrest. This link contains some great information if you're interested in learning more. There is clearly physical need, but coupled with that there is always a need to share the good news of the Gospel.
What are we doing?
We will be partnering with Doxa Deo, a church located in the capital city of Chișinău, to work in the nearby village of Orhei. We will be handing out bibles in Romanian, which is what most people in Moldova speak. We will also be visiting an orphanage and doing other work as planned in the village. I will post updates as I get more detailed information about our itinerary.
Cost?
The cost of the trip is $2500, which covers everything aside from passport fees. Anything given is a blessing, but anything extra that I raise will go towards anyone else on our team who is in need of funds as well. I will add links to their gofundme pages once they have been created. If those goals are met, anything above and beyond will go to the church in Moldova we are partnering with.
I've been told by friends who have gone previously that the experience will change my life. I am thoroughly looking forward to this opportunity to both be a blessing, and be blessed by encouraging our brothers and sisters in Christ on the other side of the globe.
WAYS TO HELP:
While donations are greatly appreciated, there are other ways you can help me as I prepare for the trip. The first, and MOST important is to pray. Pray for hearts to be readied; mine, those traveling with me, and those we are traveling to. Pray for God to be glorified in Moldova, as we work to be His hands and feet. Your prayers mean so much, and are valued above anything else.
We will also be hosting a BBQ fundraiser, for those of you in the Thorndale area!

$10 will get you brisket, beans, potato salad, noodles, and bread. All fixin's included.
There will also be a silent auction, so if you have a business, can bake some goodies, or have anything you'd like to donate, please let me know.
