A new house for the Mohamed family

Donation protected
Hello world,

my name is Dareen and I am a close friend of the Mohamed family. I have known this family for about 7 years and there is much to say about them. Aisha barko the mother of 5 has resided in her Beaverton home since 2008, she has raised 5 kids on her own as a single mother. She has put them through college, raised them to be successful people, and raised them to always give back like she has. Aisha Barko has opened her house to those in need. People who needed a place to stay abroad, she has welcomed. People who were hungry and needed to eat, she fed. Even people who didn’t have enough money for a wedding, she welcomed and served. Aisha is also active in the community by making somalian food and distributing it out for those who are in of a meal. Aisha and her family are in need of help desperately. Currently the Mohamed family is staying with their oldest sister Amina. She has 2 kids and her husband living with her. There are a total of 8 people living in a small 2 bedroom. As a member of this Portland Community, I am seeking your help. I want to raise $10,000 for the Mohamed family for new house furniture, clothing, appliances, food, and most of all shelter (new place to stay).  Please donate with what you can. Anything will help.

Here is an open letter to everyone who is reading this from the Mohamed family:

"It is with sad news to write this to our family members, friends and people from the community about a fire that destroyed our home. Fortunately with God's will no one was seriously hurt.  On Saturday May 20 around 11 PM there was a fire that started small from the kitchen and advanced to an uncontrollable blaze that damaged and demolished everything in the house, from the furniture to the appliances as well as clothing. We lost all valuable and prized possessions that are priceless to us.

My family called our house “home” for 8 years and have a mixture of juxtaposing emotions from the jovial memories we have built to the sad moments we have spent together to grow from and also the new additions we have in our family who have been raised by my mother as they gradually aged from infants to young children.

My mom and siblings who lived in the house are currently staying with my older sister’s house. We come to you all in support to help my family get back on their feet. Support can look so many ways and we will admire any contribution(s) you can make.

The contribution(s) that one can make is donating to this page financially, if you would like to support us by sending us gift cards, tangible items like food, and clothing you can personally message us to get the info on how to contribute in that way. You can also personally message us to learn other forms of contributions you can make and/or questions you may have.

We gracefully thank any support you can make to help my family recover from the fire that demolished our home.  And with faith and family/friends support we will prevail from this tragic accident.

-Amina Mohamed, Khalid Mohamed, Faiza Mohamed, Zakaria Mohamed and Sumeia Mohamed"

Again, thank you for taking the time to read this. If you have any questions in regarding the Mohamed family’s story and or where and how your generous donations will go/be used, or just please feel free to email me anytime.
