Mobility for Donlyn

Donlyn  Ann Arbuthnot Whissen was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado .  She is a  local author and  historian keeping the stories of this area alive through talks, teaching and books. As a  lifetime Grange Member and  dedicated volunteer she has touched so many lives.  She is a  talented artist , (The photo here is her self portrait she created using a photo and digitally altering),  and supporter of the arts, especially our local American Folk, Bluegrass, and Traditional Ethnic musicians.  She also enjoys  Middle Eastern and Balkan music for dancing especially performed by Sherefe.

Donlyn is afflicted with Myasthenia Gravis, a degenerative disease that makes walking difficult.   Her disease limits her ability to reach her full  potential and insurance will not pay for the equipment she needs to aid her in continuing her work for others. 

Our goal is to help keep  Donlyn mobile so she can continue to keep the history of Boulder County alive for the younger generations as long as possible.  We intend to put all funds generated to the purchase of a new motorized wheelchair that will allow her to go more places and continue her positive influences on other.
