I am trying to raise money to buy essential health monitoring equipment such as blood sugar monitors blood pressure machines , small doppler monitors.
This equipment will be used to provide basic ante natal and post natal checks for vulnerable teenage mums in Mukono Uganda.
I also hope to raise enough money to be able to provide sexual health screening tests and counselling for family planning.
I would like to be able to give the new mums a starter box for their babies as these alone have been shown to reduce infant mortality, by ensuring that baby has the best start to stay healthy, and provides a place for baby to sleep also. Some of these young women go into labour having nothing ready for themselves or their babies , not even babygrows.
Infant mortality is still relatively high in the first 28 days of life in Africa and even small things can make a massive difference.
I am returning at the end of september and am working in partnership with a local child and youth organisation to identify the most vulnerable
women to start to supporting and also devise an outreach programme to  go out to the remoter villages where most young women have no access to healthcare or sexual health and family planning advice.
