Large international oil companies pipe tar sand oil from Canada down into North Dakota crossing the Minnesota Lake lands into Wisconsin. On its way back to Canada and the export markets around the world their oil flows into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. At St. Ignace the pipeline breaks the surface of the Machinac Straights. Slipping into the water the pipeline lays on the lakebed as the waters of Lakes Huron and Michigan roil above. The oil line passes down through Michigan until it emerges and reenters Canada.

And, the corporations want to expand the pipeline.

To get to the waters in the Straights of Mackinaw that pipeline must cross through native tribal land. And people are keenly watching and waiting. The time approaches when peaceful direct action will escalate. Preparations have been in the works and a new stage of preparedness is coming fast.

And, the people want the pipeline emptied and torn out.

Camp Michipeshu, an encampment of the Anishinaabe is located on native treaty land. It is their land and has been for generations. They stand in the way of the fossil fuel giants. Camps A Rising has allied with the Anishinaabe and their mission is to peacefully stand the line. Our mission is to supply them as they stand.

We are all in this together as we fight to hold the land and climate change.
