I've been doing really well the past year, I had more mast cell tumors removed in November and was back to myself until this weekend.
We'd had days of rain and I was so excited the sun was shining this weekend that I went out in the yard and got a case of the "zoomies". I was running and ended up falling on my hip. After going to the vet today and undergoing sedation to x-ray the vets confirmed that I ruptured my right Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and have severe arthritis in my left leg. They are suggesting surgery as soon as possible.
Hi, I’m Rosie! Some of you may recognize me from Facebook and the Dodo, I’m the mama dog that was crying in her kennel from the shelter in Charlotte, NC. I’ve been adopted by an amazing family with 3 kids that spoil me rotten! We go on lots of walks, I love taking the kids to the bus stop in the morning, but my favorite thing to do is snuggle on the couch or in bed. My family can’t believe anyone ever gave me up because I really am the best dog ever!
When I came home from the shelter I was in really rough shape. Not only am I extremely overweight which has caused arthritis in my legs, but I developed a massive infection from my spay surgery and was on strict bed rest when I got home. The worst part is, when I went to the vet after coming home from the shelter, the doctor found 3 suspicious growths on my body, 2 on my leg and one on my bottom. The vet biopsied them and confirmed they are all Mast Cell Tumors. Today is the big day for my surgery to remove them. We don’t know what stage the tumors are or if I will need further medical treatment like chemotherapy following their removal, but my family wasn’t expecting anything like this when they adopted me and this surgery is really expensive! My family loves me and is going to do everything they can to keep me happy and healthy, because we all deserve a lot more time together!
