Moving Crisis

Dear Friends and Family,
I am writing you in crisis and asking you for your help. Joe and I, on behalf of Titus, made a decision to move back to the East coast where the majority of our family resides. We acquired this moving company with a quoted price and trusted them with everything we own, not knowing their were some underlying fees and trumped up charges that were being added to the balance. Joe put down a deposit and had gone ahead of me to Jersey City to find a rental apartment for which he was able to do so. When I came four weeks later expecting to receive my belongings, on the day of delivery is when we found out about these underlying charges. The amount of money added on was outrageous. It is absolutely unaffordable for our budget for just starting over again.
If we had known it would be this much, we would have surely used another moving company. Our current moving company is now holding everything we own hostage in a storage facility. We now have to come up with another $4,200 in order to cover the balance and retrieve our belongings by August 20, 2018. If we do not pay the balance by the deadline, they are going to tack on another $1,700 for storage fees. This is unattainable for us at this time. As we are seeking legal advice for a lawsuit, we still need our things to live. At this current time, we have none of Titus' belongings, furniture, clothes, etc. Nor do we have any of ours, furniture, clothes, etc. We are desperately asking for donations to help us come up with this very unexpected balance in twenty days. We have hesitated in asking earlier, as not wanting to be a bother to anyone, but have no choice at this time but to ask for help from family and dear friends.
