Junior High Robotics Competition

I am a teacher and serve the most enthusiastic, hardworking and persistent students around. Last year Chevron granted some money to my middle school to fund robotics curriculum and materials through an amazing program called PLTW. 

My students loved the class so much that many wanted to take it again to learn advanced coding and 3D modeling. Others enjoyed it even more and have created a club to compete in competitions. They have been meeting for 3 weeks now and needed money to register their team. Through weekend jobs and donations from their loved ones they've collected enough money to register as a team. 

However, in order for them to compete they need more materials and money to register for tournaments and leagues. One of the most important materials needed are remote controls for their robots. The remote kits are $400+ and each tournament or league can range from $85-$175. California is one of the toughest states in VEX competitions. The more they compete the better they become. My students will be full of joy if they can compete in a league or tournament. I will be overjoyed to know that I was a part of allowing them a learning opportunity that brings them much enjoyment.
